The Fair Isle sweater is iconic, and Marine Layer is reinventing it with their new Coastal Merino collection: a whole line of sweaters that take heritage yarns and soften them up with a California twist. Knit with a cleaner, modern pattern and an absurdly soft donegal yarn, it has classic flecks of color you don’t usually find in a Fair Isle. The feel is thick but luxuriously soft, and it’s dyed in colors inspired by the California coastline. Whether you wear it with a silky pant, jeans, or even over a dress, it’s a style you’re going to be coming back to for years to come.

The sweater is knit with a special blend of Marine Layer's Coastal Merino wool that adds extra loft, more buttery softness, and durability that helps the sweater hold its shape. Which is good, because you’ll be wearing it for a long time.
